President's Letter 2017-18

Announcing Owosso Musicale for 2017-18

A special schedule of artists will help Owosso Musicale celebrate music every month of our 81st program year! Our year of special programs, people and fellowship starts on Monday, October 9th with violin and piano duo, The Nold Sisters, at our Past President’s Tea. This is also an opportunity to contribute to a worthy musical effort which is our “Past President’s Tea’ special projects fund. Your program booklet will be available at our first meeting.

Please join us for this wonderful program, and feel free to bring a friend to this or any of our programs. This is a great year to invite friends and family to enjoy any of our programs so we aren’t the best kept secret in Shiawassee County!

This year we will celebrate local talent with a Member and Friends Talent Show for February 12, 2018. Donna Benson will be chairperson for this event which seeks to showcase our members’ and friends’ talents. She wants to hear from YOU! We are so proud that we may be able to bring the internationally renowned Dallas Brass to Owosso on April 16, 2018 for instrumental clinics and an electrifying concert that night. (See dallasbrass.com for video clips and their educational philosophy. You will love them!)

Our schedule for 2017-18 will be: *Monday, October 9, Noon at Christ Episcopal Church, Performer: Nold Sisters on violin & piano *Mon., November 13, Noon, Christ Episcopal Church, Patriotic retrospective with chanteuse, Kerry Price *Monday, December 4 , 11:30am, Holiday Luncheon at D’Mar Banquet Center, Performers: “Pine River Legacy” Dulcimer and String Acoustic Band

We want to say “Thank you!” to all our volunteers! We appreciate you!!

Please check your program booklet for ways you can be involved. This club and its music outreach would not be able to function without the many hands that make so many good things happen. Remember that we have a special corps of volunteers who wish to let all know that they are available to share a ride to OM meetings or Chorus practices. This is just another way this warm-hearted group embraces our members in the fellowship of music.

Please contact your Owosso Musicale president, Donna Benson (989.723.4216) if you have any questions, comments or need to submit your resignation . We work closely together, are glad to discuss your ideas.

Hope to see you on October 9th and our other programs or concerts!

Donna Benson and Sue Henry, Owosso Musicale Co-presidents
