Dear Members, Welcome to our 78th Season celebrating and supporting musical culture in our Community! I do hope this finds all refreshed from your summer hiatus and ready to enjoy the exciting new line-up for 2014-15 put in place by your committee.

: October 13, Past President’s Tea, Noon at Christ Episcopal Church with “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs” presented by Ron Davis on organ and Glenda Davis on piano. Ron assures it will be both entertaining and educational with the audience singing along!

: October 17, Friday, 9;00 am, NE District Fall Meeting at Christ Episcopal Church. You’re all invited to come.Students from the Creative Center For the Arts will perform.

: November 10, American Music Month, Noon at St. Johns United Church of Christ featuring “Let Us Be Free” with Hanna Leja relating stories of W.W.II in Prague, Poland and how the American Armed Forces assisted in freeing her country. There will be slides and music with Owosso Musicale Chorus performing.

: December 6, Handel’s “Messiah”, Saturday, 7:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church. The Reverend Ellsworth Jackson will be directing a local chorus and orchestra. Rev. Jackson, who has a great passion for ‘’’The Messiah” has already directed 34 performances of it. Tom Elliott will be directing the rehearsals for the chorus and interested singers may contact him at 989-472-4361.

: December 8, Program at Noon at Christ Episcopal Church with seasonal songs and music with The Corunna H.S. Cavalier Varsity Singers, O.M. Chorus, a piano duo and more. Luncheon afterwards at Abiding in the Vine. Make reservations to Katie Florian, 723-3728

: February 9, Jeff Haas (son of Karl Haas) will present his program of “Building Bridges With Music” in the A.M. at Corunna M.S. and in the P.M. at O.M.S. which we will attend.

: March 9, Music Award Winners Recital at Christ Episcopal Church.

: April 13, “Casey At the Bat”, a tribute to Baseball (tah-da-da-dah da dah!), Noon at Christ Episcopal Church with Sharon Robinson at the organ and a Narrator.

: May 11, Spring Luncheon, 11:30 am at Christ Episcopal Church with pianist Deborah Moriarity, Dean of MSU Piano Department.

A warm welcome is extended to 4 new members: Gordon Pennington, Mary Mitosinka, Kathy Foster and Katie Howard! A Reminder for all: Membership dues are payable now and are $20 for Active, $30 for Family, $40 for Associate, $50 for Patron. Cheryl who has done a great job as Treasurer for many years, has retired from the position, so now you may send your check to Sue Henry at 2309 Meadowdown Dr.

Yearbooks will be given out at the October 13 Meeting and per usual the active and family members are asked to find their month to serve on the Tea committee. If you have a problem with the date, please contact the chairman of the month and Donna Benson. Also, please check your addresses and phone numbers and if they are wrong or you have changed any of them, please inform Cheryl or myself.

We are very proud to have Donna Rose as our “Musician of the Year” 2014-2015!!...a most deserved honor. Donna is filling in as O.M. chorus director and pianist while Ann Ferden is recovering from rotator cuff surgery. And we also appreciate each and every one of you who support this organization in all our efforts to make music a vital and inspiring part in the life of our community. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
