Dear Musicale Members,

The O.M. Board members and I hope you enjoyed the past season’s offerings as much as we did. The November program featuring the story of Hanna Leja and her life as a Polish resistance member really drew the biggest crowd ever! What a thrill to see over 100 persons who were interested in viewing her video and singing patriotic songs!

So now we are busy lining up new programs for the coming season: October 12 with the Past Presidents Tea held at Christ Episcopal Church will feature the performance of cellist Jin Hyun Kim, a graduate student of the M.S.U. School of Music. For the American Music Month of November we will celebrate the music of the 1940s on the 9th at Christ Episcopal Christ.

On December 7th our Christmas Luncheon will be held at the new DiMar Center with the O.H.S. Jazz Band performing. The February 8th meeting will highlight Folk and Bluegrass music. On Sunday, February 24th, the O.M. Music Award Auditions take place with the winning entrants performing at our meeting on March 14th.

Plans are in the works to bring the M.S.U. Professors of Jazz 7 piece band to the O.C.P. stage in the spring. This will be a joint effort with O.C.P. In April, Kailey Grubb, one of the past year’s award winners will sing for us. Our May Luncheon will take place at the S.A.C. on the 9th with the delightful Classical Bells Quartet performing.

We hope this helps you look forward to our 79th Season in bringing musical culture that is educational and inspirational to both our club and our community. Your support is needed and appreciated very much. You were requested to renew your membership in June and we thank those who already have done so. Now is the time to send your dues to OM Treasurer, Sue Henry so you may renew your membership! And, please, if you have any changes or additions to your address, phone number, or email address, please let Cheryl Gapinski know ASAP! You may reach her by email, phone or mail. She is responsible for producing the new Yearbook and she needs all your info. (A written resignation is required if you find that necessary, which we hope not!) When you receive your Yearbook be sure to check out your Tea Committee assignment along with your address, etc. for correctness. Thank you for your attention to this.

The Dues Schedule is the same as last year and dues are due by August 1st.
